The Alumni Association
Founded in 1981, the mission of The East Technical High School Alumni Association (ETAA) has been to award annual scholarships to assist the educational goals of current East Tech students. Led by Armeetra Kirkpatrick, ETAA provided scholarships for many years in addition to monetary contributions that benefited East Tech High School. As years progressed, ETAA has become stronger than ever! Because of their dedication and commitment to the organization’s future existence, the Executive Board lead by Dwight Bell, mentored several alumni candidates to occupy board seats.
Purpose: Specifically, to help further the educational goals of students at East Tech High School through awarding scholarships to training programs, colleges and universities as well as apprenticeships and internships. To engage alumni in reaching out to the school, community and the current students in an effort to establish rapport that will enhance the student’s outlook on his/her education. To serve as advocates for the current student population and to foster pride in their growth by the implementation of alumni programs (School Assistance Program, Scholarship Program-Alumni Bandwagon, Mentoring Program-Educational Outreach, and Reunion Assistance Program).
Vision: The history of East Technical High School (ETHS) Grads has a proven record of perseverance and pride of its school and community. It is the belief of the East Tech’s Alumni, a product of struggling community that through participation in community and school administrative initiatives, East Tech’s enrollment and academic progress will soar and rest in the school’s historical status as an exceptional educational institution.
